Patnam Muniraja started weaving in jamdani technique at young age. This family tradition is their pride. Patnam Muniraja is the third generation and has increased the family profession in the last three decades through his dedication and passion for Venkatagiri sarees. The Venkatagiri Sarees, known for their fine weaving The weavers back then used to weave these sarees only for the royal families. At present sarees have earned global acclaim for being fine, soft, light, and royal look. The majority of the residents of the small town of Venkatagiri, today, earn their livelihood by weaving this unique fabric. Patnam Muniraja have 25 looms and he is supporting 25 local weaver’s family and keeping this ancient traditional craft alive. According to Muniraja the uniqueness of these sarees is their exclusive designs which can be made for even a single person on order.
